It's Trigger Time!

I am so happy tonight is time for another shot. THE Shot. It’s time for the trigger shot! After a horribly emotional day yesterday we are elated! Yesterday during my scan and bloodwork we found out there was no growth in any follicles and it looked like there was only potential for 1 egg and our nurse suggested potentially keeping me on the meds for 3 more days. In the afternoon the doctor called and said if there was no improvement between yesterday and today she would suggest cancelling the cycle. WHAT? We already spent $6,000 in meds for this. For a cancelled cycle or one egg? After a night of anger, nerves and tears we dragged ourselves in for our morning scan today, expecting to hear the worst. To everyone’s surprise (my nurse included) we got the best news possible. My ovaries literally exploded overnight. I have 16 total follicles, 8 of which are measuring over 15mm, 5 over 18mm and 3 that are 12mm with potential to be over 15mm at retrieval. The reason 15mm is significant is because the majority of follicles over 15mm contain a mature egg according to our embryologist. So after what was a horrible 24 hours we are over the moon excited and tonight we get to pull the trigger at 9PM. Our retrieval and MicroTese surgeries will be at 9AM on Friday (2 days from now).

Cycle Day 5 – Officially start STIMS. Lupron & Gonal F morning and night. HCG at night

Cycle Day 7 - Lupron & Gonal F morning and night. HCG at night

Cycle Day 8 - Lupron & Gonal F morning and night. HCG at night. Scan & bloodwork.

Cycle Day 9 - Lupron & Gonal F morning and night. HCG at night.

CD 11 Scan: 7 follicles on my left ovary, 5 on my right. Estradiol - 619

CD 13 Scan: 8 follicles on my left ovary, 6 on my right. 6 follicles are above 10mm. Estradiol – 1,163. Progesterone – 0.9

CD 14 Scan: 8 follicles on my left ovary, 7 on my right. 6 follicles are above 10mm. Estradiol – 1,472. Progesterone – 1.3
