Here we go again, another medications order done. This time not nearly as painful, thank goodness! I will be taking Estrace (estrogen) pills, Doxycycline (antibiotic), Medrol (anti inflammatory steroid) and progesterone in oil shots (umm can we talk about the size of that needle)! I'm a big baby and asked the pharmacy for a 1.5" 25 gauge needle rather than the typical 1.5" 22 gauge. It is a noticeable difference in width and is supposed to help cut down on the amount of pain and bruising. I will try anything! Fortunately I was able to get all of the pills ordered in 2019 and picked up from Walgreens, we met out out of pocket max so those were "free". Yay for small victories. Progesterone was not covered by our 2019 insurance company so we waited until after the new year to place the order with our new insurance. After insurance the cost was $86 for a 30 day supply. This will have to be refilled 3 times if the transfer is successful.

For now we wait until CD1 (period to start) and then I start the Estrace. Just a few days to go, we are excited and terrified all at once. The hardest part has been keeping all of this a secret from family and friends. Infertility is hard enough, it takes all of the fun and surprise out of trying to get pregnant and this is one thing we are able to control. It will give us a small sense of normalcy, a chance to to surprise our parents and friends with a pregnancy announcement if it works and we cannot wait for that day to come!
